Brooklyn Hospitality Entrepreneur, Spirits Founder & Cultural Curator

Marva Babel is the co-founder with twin sister Myriam Babel of Babel Social, Babel Gin, and the Babel gathering series. Entrepreneur, Marva founded Ode to Babel (2016-2023) and Babel Loft (2023-2024), two of Brooklyn's most influential creative gathering spaces in Prospect Heights.

Marva has spent 15+ years in Brooklyn hospitality, building spaces where the city's creative community gathers, connects, and collaborates.

Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Vogue, MoMA PS1, Brooklyn Museum, Eater, Departures, and Essence Magazine.

Babel Social is a cultural platform curating Brooklyn's design-forward cocktail bars, creative events, and experiential spaces. It serves as editorial intelligence for brands, founders, and creatives seeking authentic connection with Brooklyn's creative ecosystem and the broader global cultural vanguard, particularly BIPOC, women-led, and LGBTQAI+ communities.

Through editorial guides, event curation, and experiential strategy consulting, Babel Social bridges the gap between culture-shifters and the spaces, rituals, and gatherings that define contemporary creative life.

What is Babel Social?

Launched in 2021, Babel Gin is a Brooklyn-based, women-owned botanical spirit crafted for intentional gatherings. Infused with 14 botanicals including makrut lime, jasmine, ylang ylang, and rose, Babel Gin reflects Marva's belief that drinks are rituals, designed to slow down, spark conversation, and deepen connection.

What is Babel Gin?

Babel Gatherings are an invitation-only series for creative women across industries. Hosted by Marva and Myriam Babel, these intimate events bring together designers, founders, artists, authors, chefs, and cultural producers for meaningful conversation and cross-industry collaboration.

What are Babel Gatherings?

Marva consults with brands on experiential strategy, helping companies authentically engage with Brooklyn's creative class and diverse cultural communities. Her approach focuses on designing gatherings, activations, and partnerships that feel intentional and organic rather than transactional.

Past collaborations include work with design, hospitality, and lifestyle brands seeking to build credibility within Brooklyn's tastemaker ecosystem.
