moving onto the next….

In the words of Mike Tyson, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.” No truer words capture the experience of opening Babel Loft—the first Black woman-owned, operated membership club and tasting room in New York City. Our vision was ambitious and backed by our community of investors.

Sadly, the first round wasn’t destined to reach its full potential. While there are many reasons for the closure, they don’t change much. What I will say is that this journey has made me a stronger leader. Closing Babel Loft has allowed me to reflect on the work that began in a small 700-square-foot space on a side street in Brooklyn—a place that grew into something beyond my imagination, built on a foundation of love.

The next chapter was meant to expand on that foundation. Although the location wasn’t the right fit, it marked the start of something new.

Hold tight; I’m here for US—our collective community. Until a new location reveals itself, I’ll continue exploring meaningful ways to bring us together.

Cheers to what’s NEXT.
